Michael Heimbinder lives in Brooklyn where he works as a freelance technical writer and web designer. His recent independent research and writing examines the relationship between agriculture and pharmaceuticals; two seemingly unrelated enterprises that have become intertwined as advances in molecular biology have made it possible to reorganize genetic information according to novel designs. His current project, habitatmap.org, constructs virtual representations of the substantive but frequently [invisible connections] that permeate the urban environment and invites community participants to contribute their own visions of the city.
