- Chantal Dumas is a sound and radio artist, also doing some projects with improvisaton.
KEY words : sound field recording - narrative audio work - space - noise, glitch and acoustic sounds.
- She has conceived and realized over 25 works for radio broadcast, in Canada and abroad. Her work has received awards at the EAR competition (Hungary) as well as at the Phonurgia Nova in Radio Creation, France. In 2001, "The little man in the ear" was awarded the Phonurgia Nova Documentary prize, and in 2005, "Tanz" was nominated in the radio art category.

• Her latest work, running at the moment at Halle, Germany, at the radioREVOLTEN festival, "Petite métaphysique de la radio ou la chambre d'à côté". an installation-performacne about radio done with Mario Gauthier. Also the collective project SoundMatter directed by Francisco Lopez with Montrealer artists and composers at the Fonderie Darling (summer 2006).
In 2005 her work contributed to the lecture night at the Montreal International Literature Festival; Our Frontiers, by Rose-Marie Goulet galerie dare-dare, Square Viger, Mtl/Qc ; The Projet ATLAS, a sound and visual installation by Christian Calon and Pascal Dufaux, which is now in current production; In 5 Movements, a totally improvisational spectacle by Andrew de Lotbinière Harwood with Marc Béland at the SAT Mtl, QC). She conducted additional workshops at UQAM art history department (2005), at Concordia University for the conference "In&out of the Studio" Montreal (2005) and at ‘’Full Moon Radio Camp” St-John’s, Newfoundland (2005).
- In 2004, Chantal Dumas presented the sound installation, "Montreal-Shanghai Bridge" at Matchmaking at Suzhou Creek organized by the Eastlink Gallery in Shanghai.
Other improvisational projects include works with the Grand Orchestre d’Avatar, Aimé Dontigny, and Danielle Pélardy Roger; on the spectacle The Mystery of the White Wood with Geneviève Letarte (Théâtre la Chapelle, 2000);
She is currently working on an interactive performance piece dealing with body movement and sound.
