With Simon Pope, Elley Jones, Ben Clayton & Todd Cunningham

Discuss your progress and let us know if you will be needing any additional support.

Tracklines Demo Sessions

As a research project hosted by the BNMI's Mobile Lab, the investigations behind Tracklines are multi-fold, exploring the place where nature, culture, and technology converge in mobile media experience design.

This will be an on-site demonstration of The Banff New Media Institute’s own research in Locative Media, partnered with the Mobile Digital Commons Network.

Sessions will run throughout this time period. Please sign up in groups of two for your session between 11:00am and 2:30pm. Allow 1.5 hours for the total experience.

NOTE: This is an outdoor walking experience, so please wear suitable footwear and dress for the weather.

It's an Analog Break!

Are your pupils turning into little squares from staring at a computer screen? Need a cottage industry-style break? Lindsay, Geneviève, and Pam will reveal their alter egos and take you away from the digital for an evening filled with colour, tea, good company and some old movies. We will go over the basics of knitting: casting on, knitting, purling, binding off, and changing colours. Already knit? Don’t want to knit, but feel like hanging out anyway? Come on down!

If you would like to knit, we can get you your basic supplies (yarn and needles) for $15. Please put your name on this list if you are interested!

Artist Talks

Please sign up below if you haven't already done so. These are 10 minute talks in which you will go over your background, some of your recent and/or relevant works and what you will be working on during Almost Perfect. Please keep in mind that the 10 minute limit will be strictly enforced. If you have more than 10 minutes of material, feel free to participate in our Friday Night Salon Sessions every Friday at 8pm in the second floor lounge of Lloyd Hall.

There are still plenty of spots open on Tuesday. Don't be shy!
