From AlmostPerfect
GreenHouse is an annotated walk. It invites users to stroll the Banff Centre and downtown Banff, picking up housing footnotes all the while. With no set path, participants are invited to amble, and to suss out audio histories and video presentations along the way. The goal is to give participants an opportunity to think about housing and building, in a place where they are surrounded by so many interesting varieties of building in such close proximity to one another. Many of us do our best thinking while walking. As such, GreenHouse will attempt to wrestle the walker's mind toward thoughts of housing, environmental construction, and the lived history of a place (in this case, Banff), through video, audio and visual site-specific cues.
GreenHouse is a prototype for a larger project that would seek user input to create a broader, more economic-driven guide to housing and downtown retrofitting in Toronto.
