A Group of Artists who collaborated using bluetooth technology to track individuals and, using interpretations of locations that the individuals had visited, send them text messages that questioned thier identitys. http://loca-lab.org/


ILE SANS FIL & HAL Here are two interesting projects that can fall under the category of "Locative Media in Action". The first "Ile San Fil" is a free wireless network infrastructure that was started by a Montreal collective. The second project "HAL" is an interesting application that uses the Ile San Fil network to enables artists to "locate" thier work at various public sites across Montreal and soon to be anywhere that has a open wireless network. Île Sans Fil is a non-profit community group devoted to providing free public wireless internet access to mobile users in public spaces throughout Montreal, Canada.

HAL http://www.ilesansfil.org/tiki-index.php?page=HAL HAL is a technological and cultural project aiming to improve Montrealers connection with local culture. HAL assists Montrealers in discovering local artists and media producers by making their works available via wireless jukeboxes located at select Ile Sans Fil hotspots. As easy to use as opening up iTunes, HAL brings high-speed streaming of video and audio together with location-relevant media.
